Random Acts of Design is a quarterly program created by Design Pickle to amplify the voices of non-profit organizations. By providing access to high-quality design and templates, these organizations can produce flyers, logos, one-pagers and countless other promotional items that elevate their efforts, but are seldom in the budget.

Every quarter, Design Pickle selects 3 non-profit organizations to receive a yearlong FreshStock subscription, providing access to premium templates and vectors. One grand prize winner — selected through public voting — will receive three free months of a Graphic Design Essentials Plan, along with the following support:

1-1 Leadership Training

1-on-1 personal development and leadership training from Design Pickle Founder & CEO, Russ Perry.

Marketing Consultation

Three months of marketing consultation from Dena Patton, Co-Founder of the Girls Rule Foundation.

Why Does Good Design Matter?

Dena Patton, Co-Founder of the Girls Rule Foundation, demonstrates the importance of graphic design for non-profits and reveals the three key marketing components she uses to grow her organization.

To select the top 3 organizations, our panel of judges considered a variety of factors including, but not limited to:

  • Resources the organization currently has access to

  • The impact Design Pickle would have on the organization

  • An internal team in place able to sustain marketing and communications beyond our initial engagement

  • The grand prize winner will be determined through a week of public voting.

Thank you for visiting Random Acts of Design, which is owned and operated by Design Pickle (“DP,” “we” or “us”). Please take a moment to review these Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”). By using the Website or participating in the Random Acts of Design Campaign (“Campaign”), you (“Participant” or “you”) agree to be legally bound by all of the terms, conditions and notices contained or referenced herein. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement please do not use the Website or participate in the Campaign.

The goal of the Campaign is to identify ways for Design Pickle to help non-profits in our community. We encourage you to use our Website to suggest ideas for the Campaign. Although we won’t be able to help everyone, we will carefully review your submission and will be in touch if your entry is selected. All ideas are welcome – creativity is encouraged.

1. How to Make a Submission: In order to make a Campaign submission, please fill out the online entry form at X. All entries must include the following: 1) your first and last name, organization name, organization website, organization location, number of full-time employees, email address, phone number, EIN or copy of tax-exempt letter from the IRS, and 2) a video submission explaining your organization, your marketing efforts, and the way you would use graphic design services. Submissions must be in either English or Spanish.

2. Selection: Periodically, eligible submissions will be judged by a qualified panel of judges selected by Design Pickle in Design Pickle’s sole discretion based on how the requested help would impact the submitter’s life and organization. Judges’ decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Campaign. Potential recipients will be notified by email.

4. Submission Details: Submission must be written in English or Spanish and must be true. Design Pickle reserves the right to verify the accuracy of submissions. Submissions must be the submitter’s original creation, may not have been published or previously won any other contest award, may not infringe third party rights (including, without limitation, trademark, copyright, and/or any other intellectual property rights), and must be suitable for publication and consistent with Sponsor’s brand image, as determined at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Submissions may not defame any individual or violate the right of publicity or privacy of any person, living or dead. Submissions not complying with this Agreement are subject to disqualification in Design Pickle’s sole discretion.

5. Restrictions: Submitters must be legal residents of the United States who are 19 years of age or older. Void outside the US and where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances apply. Employees, officers, and directors of Design Pickle or any of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment, and marketing agencies, web site providers, web masters, and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children, regardless of where they live) and those living in the same household are not eligible to participate. Participation constitutes the Participant’s, nominee’s and/or recipient’s full and unconditional agreement to this Agreement and to the decisions of Design Pickle and Campaign judges, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Campaign. Being chosen is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Design Pickle reserves the right to verify submitters eligibility.

All submissions become the exclusive property of Design Pickle and will not be returned. Normal Internet access, phone, and usage charges imposed by your online or phone service may apply. Bulk, automated and/or third party entries are prohibited and will not be considered. Multiple Participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any Participant to provide multiple and/or different identities, submissions, email addresses, logins, or any other methods will disqualify that Participant’s submissions at Design Pickle’s discretion. In the event of a dispute as to any online submission, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the applicant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Submissions specifying an invalid, non-working, or inactive email address may be disqualified and ineligible for consideration.
